"In my work, I try to capture the mood of the moment.

In attempting to express this particular feeling again, I must create a synthesis between the observed reality and the fleeting memory gifted to me. In this endeavor, I employ geometric forms, contrast soft color gradients with dynamic strokes, and emphasize with light and shadow. The theme that interests me most is the relationship between the worlds of humans and animals, as well as civilization and nature."

"In Aldona Siech’s landscape paintings, we experience a different kind of seeing. Subtly painted landscapes with blue skies and white clouds show power lines and pylons alongside industrial buildings. In the metaphysical atmosphere of these works, some of which resemble views from a moving train, we pause for a moment. Then come paintings with a more unsettling perspective. The industrial landscape remains, yet parts of other images are distorted by disorienting reflections. This raises the question of reality within the hall of mirrors – much appears oddly assembled, presenting a world and reality in which we no longer feel at home.

Yet we cannot linger long in this feeling of alienation. In further works, the finely and subtly painted surfaces seamlessly transition into wild, expressive painting. In the painting featuring the white chair, color bursts forth as pure energy. The painting becomes so intense that for a moment, it is impossible to distinguish top from bottom – only the white chair provides orientation. But who, in such a state of agitation and uprooting, would even want to sit? The painting’s title, Studio 306, at least conveys a sense of the creative energy within an artist’s studio.

Many other works carry titles such as No Title, offering no guidance, while others like Waiting for Bread or Abandoned provide little direction. In this way, the experienced viewer feels surprisingly at ease. They are not tasked with speculating about hidden messages in the artist’s works but can fully experience the wide spectrum of mood-driven, illustrative painting – from subtle transitions to creative chaos, back and forth, repeatedly living through it. Dreaming life while simultaneously living the dream."
